Gates for Holly Road Service Road

The residents of Holly Road and East Park Parade have met on a number of occasions to tidy up the service road which runs between the back of the two roads. This area has become open to fly tipping and general neglect and has from time to time attracted drug users, vandalism and graffiti.
It would make perfect sense to fit security gates to each end of the service road but in order to do this the residents need to secure permission from the majority of residents as well as entering into some kind of financial agreement to fund to the installation and upkeep of the gates. To date we have not been able to secure this agreement, largely due to the high number of households, commercial premises and multi occupancy accommodation.

Does anyone fancy the challenge of managing this project? Do you have relevant experience that you could share? Would you be prepared to lend a hand with approaching your neighbours to canvass their opinion? If so, MYABINGTON would like to hear from you.
