08/03/2010 - New Adventure Play Area Takes Shape
Work is almost completed on the new adventure play area on The Racecourse which is due to open on 14th May.
The ambitious project has taken place thanks to The Friends of Northampton Racecourse (FoNR) securing funding from The Big Lottery.The play area is designed for children aged 8-13 and uses the existing land levels to provide interesting ‘play in the landscape’ as well as new play equipment on the park, the largest piece being a 6 metre high climbing frame.
Public tours of the play area will take place on March 25th at 4pm - Meet by the site if you would like a sneak preview. Otherwise it will open from 3.30pm on 14th May after allowing for time for the grass to be regrown around the earth works. Look out for more details of the opening event!
